Bendigo's Cheapest Unleaded Sits 11 Cents Under Shepparton and Wodonga

Right, so if you're filling up in Bendigo this week, have a squiz at this. The big brands are asking roughly the same for unleaded right across northern Victoria. It's the cheap end where things split, and Bendigo's cheap end is a fair bit cheaper than its neighbours'.

As of 4th Oct 2026 8:30am AEDT, there are 29 servos within about 12 kilometres of the Bendigo CBD with an unleaded price on the official Victorian feed. Twenty four of them are asking 238.9 or more, and the middle price is 240.9. Only four are under 230.

Two servos 44 metres apart on Napier Street

Here's the thing, right. Up the north end of Napier Street in White Hills, APCO White Hills at number 585 and the Mobil at 588 are 44 metres apart. You could throw a sanga from one forecourt to the other.

For most of the week they moved together. Both were on 221.3 in Wednesday night's official prices, then went to 223.3 on Thursday night and 229.3 on Friday night. On Saturday night the Mobil went to 240.3 and the APCO stayed put on 229.3. That's 11 cents a litre between two servos that can see each other, and the Mobil has climbed 19 cents since Wednesday.

About 300 metres further up Napier Street, Burk Bendigo in Epsom is on 223.3, the cheapest unleaded in Bendigo today. It eased from 225.3 to 223.3 on Thursday and hasn't moved since. Fair dinkum, that's 17 cents under the Mobil just down the road.

The other two under 230 are APCO Strathdale on McIvor Road and Liberty Epsom on the Midland Highway. Both are on 229.3, and both got there on Friday night, the same night as APCO White Hills.

How Bendigo stacks up against Shepparton and Wodonga

The other two big regional centres up this way don't get as low. In Shepparton, counting Kialla and Mooroopna, there are 21 servos with a price today and the middle price is 239.9. The cheapest is APCO Shepparton on 234.5, which hasn't moved all week, then Pacific Fuel Solutions on 234.7 and Liberty Shepparton on 235.5.

Wodonga itself has 15 servos, leaving out Albury across the river, and its middle price is 242.9. APCO West Wodonga is the cheapest on 234.9, with OTR West Wodonga close behind on 235.1.

So the majors sit around 240 in all three towns, within a few cents of each other, but Bendigo's cheapest servo is 11.2 cents under Shepparton's cheapest and 11.6 under Wodonga's. Even after climbing 8 cents since Wednesday, the two Bendigo APCO sites are still 5.2 cents under APCO Shepparton.

E10 and diesel

It's the same split on Napier Street for E10. APCO White Hills is on 227.3 and the Mobil across the road is on 236.3, so that's 9 cents. If that's what your car runs on, the E10 prices page is worth a look before you head out.

For diesel, Burk Bendigo and APCO White Hills are both on 265.3. The Mobil only lists premium diesel, at 283.3, so you can't compare it like for like. Check the regular diesel price when you're shopping around. The diesel prices page has the wider picture.

What it means for your wallet

Say you've got a 60 litre tank. Fill up at Burk instead of the Mobil and you're $10.20 better off, or $10.56 against Bendigo's middle price of 240.9. Even just crossing Napier Street from the Mobil to the APCO saves you $6.60 on a fill. That's a couple of flat whites for driving 44 metres. Put your own numbers into the savings calculator and see what it adds up to over a month.

Where to fill up this week

In Bendigo, the cheap unleaded right now is at the north end of Napier Street and along the Midland Highway through Epsom. In Shepparton, APCO and Pacific Fuel Solutions are the ones to beat, and over in Wodonga I'd head to West Wodonga for the APCO or the OTR.

Keep an eye on the cheap ones, mind you. The Bendigo APCO sites went up 8 cents in two nights, and the Mobil showed how quickly a servo can leave the pack. Victorian servos post their prices the evening before they apply, so check unleaded petrol prices before you head out rather than going off last week's number. The best time to fill up page explains how the price cycle works.

Look, end of the day, that's ten bucks back on a tank for picking the right end of Napier Street. Can't argue with that.
