Two Weeks After Sydney's Price Peak, Campbelltown's CBD Still Charges 242.9 for Unleaded
Unleaded prices lodged with NSW FuelCheck at 8:00am AEST on Saturday 3rd Oct 2026 show a clear split across Campbelltown in Sydney's south west. The three servos in the town centre are holding at 242.9 cents a litre, the level they reached when the last price cycle peaked in mid September. Four to five kilometres away, servos around Minto and St Andrews have eased to between 223.9 and 225.9.
Three CBD servos, one price
7 Eleven Campbelltown on Blaxland Road, 7 Eleven on Queen Street and EG Ampol Campbelltown Mall are all at 242.9, and their daily records have moved almost in step. On 12th Sep the three were at 214.9 to 215.9. They lifted in stages over the following week, reached 241.9 between 19th and 22nd Sep, then moved to 242.9 on 27th Sep. That is a climb of 27 to 28 cents, and none of the three has lodged a lower price since.
Minto and St Andrews ease
South of the centre, Metro Minto is at 223.9 and Shell Urbanista Minto is at 224.7. Metro Bow Bowing, both Metro sites at St Andrews and United Petroleum Minto are at 225.9.
These sites started the cycle much lower. The Metro sites were at 195.5 on 12th Sep and climbed to 229.9 by 18th Sep, a rise of 34.4 cents. That is more than the CBD added, though from a lower base, and they have since come back 4 to 6 cents.
The biggest falls at Rosemeadow and St Helens Park
Campbelltown's southern edge has eased the most. EG Ampol Rosemeadow peaked at 241.9 on 18th Sep, a day before the CBD reached the same price, then came down in steps to 221.9 by 26th Sep. It edged up to 223.9 on 30th Sep and added another 3 cents this morning to 226.9. That still leaves it 15 cents under its peak and 16 cents under the town centre.
7 Eleven St Helens Park took a similar path, from 233.9 on 17th Sep to 223.9 today. Budget Petrol at St Helens Park is at 229.9, and the servos around Rosemeadow and Ambarvale sit between 226.9 and 235.9.
Same brand, 19 cents apart
7 Eleven St Helens Park at 223.9 and 7 Eleven Blaxland Road at 242.9 are 4.5 kilometres and 19 cents apart. On a 50 litre fill that is $111.95 against $121.45, a difference of $9.50.
The daily records show a gap of this size before the cycle began. Metro Minto and 7 Eleven Blaxland Road were 19.4 cents apart on 12th Sep, at 195.5 against 214.9. By 18th Sep, when Minto had finished climbing and the CBD had not, the gap had narrowed to just 5 cents, at 229.9 against 234.9. Today it is back to 19.0 cents, at 223.9 against 242.9, so the gap from before the cycle has fully returned.
Across the wider area
The 28 servos within seven kilometres of central Campbelltown that reported this morning average 231.5 cents. A sample of 441 servos across nine parts of Sydney, from Hornsby to Campbelltown, averages 236.3.
Penrith has stalled as well, but without the discounting. Its 26 servos average 241.7, and 7 Eleven on High Street and EG Ampol at Emu Plains lifted 3 cents to 244.9 this morning after sitting at 241.9 for at least ten days. Werrington is the exception there, with Metro at 229.5.
E10 follows the same line
E10 prices sit about two cents under unleaded at most sites in the Campbelltown sample. E10 is 221.9 at Metro Minto and 7 Eleven St Helens Park, and 240.9 at the three CBD servos, the same 19 cent gap.
What the data shows
The records do not explain why the town centre has held, but they do show this cycle unwinding unevenly. The independent chains around Minto and St Andrews, along with the 7 Eleven and EG Ampol sites on the southern edge, have moved back toward their earlier prices. The three CBD sites have not lodged a single cut since 27th Sep.
What it means for motorists
For motorists in central Campbelltown, a five kilometre drive to Minto or St Andrews currently saves 17 to 19 cents a litre on unleaded. Prices on the southern edge have kept adjusting while the CBD boards have stayed put, so it is worth checking live unleaded petrol prices and recent price trends across NSW before a fill. The best time to fill up guide covers how the Sydney cycle typically runs.
Two weeks on from the peak, the side of Campbelltown you fill up on is worth close to 20 cents a litre.
