Two Penrith Servos Lift Unleaded to 269.9 While St Marys Sits at 231.5

At 12:00pm AEDT on 22nd Oct 2026, two servos in central Penrith list unleaded at 269.9, 38.4 cents above the lowest price in the area. So far the lift has not spread locally. Of the 31 servos within 8 km of the Penrith city centre, these two are the only ones above 259.9, and the lowest prices sit a short drive east along the Great Western Highway.

All figures here are official prices lodged with NSW FuelCheck, the state's fuel price scheme.

Where the 269.9 prices are

The daily price history for each servo shows the jump came in two steps:

The same two brands have other central Penrith sites that did not move. The 7 Eleven on High Street and the Ampol Foodary on Lugard Street both list 246.9, 23 cents under the Henry Street and Coreen Avenue sites a couple of kilometres away.

Prices have been easing elsewhere

While those servos lifted, several others in the area went the other way over the past nine days:

The area median is 243.9, which leaves the two 269.9 servos 26 cents above the typical local price.

How Penrith compares with the rest of western Sydney

Penrith is running above the suburbs further east. The same 8 km search around three other centres gives these unleaded figures:

That puts the Penrith median a notable 7 to 8 cents above Parramatta and Liverpool.

Across the 239 servos in these four searches, six list unleaded at 269.9. Besides the two in Penrith, they are 7 Eleven Blacktown, EG Ampol Prospect, 7 Eleven Fairfield West and EG Ampol Fairfield Heights. All six carry a 7 Eleven or Ampol sign. Every other servo in the four searches is at 259.9 or lower, and most sit between 227.5 and 247.9.

Sydney unleaded prices tend to move in cycles, with a handful of servos lifting first and others following over the next few days. My read is that it is too early to say whether that is happening here. Six servos out of 239 is a small share, and one of the early movers, in Emu Plains, has already come back down. Our guide to the best time to fill up explains how these cycles usually play out.

What this means for your next fill

On a 50 litre tank of unleaded, 269.9 costs $19.20 more than Metro St Marys at 231.5 and $13.00 more than the Penrith median of 243.9. Against the 246.9 sites in central Penrith, the difference is $11.50, without leaving the city centre.

In central Penrith, check the board before you pull in, because servos carrying the same brand are 23 cents apart today. If you head east along the Great Western Highway, Kingswood, Werrington and St Marys list 231.5 to 235.9. If you are running low, fill up sooner. Should more servos follow the 269.9 lift, today's lower prices may not last.

Petrolmate's unleaded petrol prices page and NSW overview show current prices across the region, and price trends tracks the week by week picture.

The numbers are clear: Penrith motorists have a 38.4 cent spread across 8 km today, and a quick check before filling up is worth it while that gap holds.
