Noosa Unleaded Holds at 229.9 as 37 Sunshine Coast Servos Lift Their Prices
This week's unleaded figures for the Sunshine Coast show a region pulling apart. As at 7:10am AEST on Friday 9th Oct 2026, the cheapest litre of unleaded between Beerwah and Tewantin cost 229.9 cents and the dearest cost 252.9. Distance from Brisbane does little to explain that gap. The servo you pull into explains most of it.
The midweek lifts skipped Noosa's cheapest servos
On Wednesday and Thursday, 37 of the 65 Sunshine Coast servos with an earlier price on record lodged unleaded rises of between 1 and 6 cents with Queensland's price reporting scheme. In Warana, EG Ampol Warana and the Warana 7 Eleven both moved from 238.9 to 241.9, and BP Kawana made the same move. BP and 7 Eleven in Coolum Beach each added 4 cents to reach 239.9. The biggest rises, 6 cents each, came inland at Landsborough, Woombye and two servos around Maleny.
Noosa's three cheapest servos did not move. U Go Tewantin and United Doonan held at 229.9 and EG Ampol Noosaville at 230.9, which leaves them as the three cheapest on the whole coast.
12 cents across 500 metres in Tewantin
The sharpest gap is inside Tewantin itself. U Go on Doonella Street asks 229.9, while Shell Reddy Express Tewantin on Poinciana Avenue, about 500 metres away, asks 241.9. That is 12 cents a litre, or $6 on a 50 litre tank.
Shell Reddy Express prices its Sunshine Coast sites almost as one block. Six of its seven sites, from Caloundra and Maroochydore up to Noosa and Tewantin, list unleaded at 241.9. The odd one out is the Nambour Connection Road site near Nambour, at 249.9. On these numbers, the Noosa sites follow their network's price rather than the cheaper independents down the road.
One brand, a 22 cent spread
The Ampol branded sites raise more questions. EG Ampol runs eight servos across the region, and this morning they list unleaded at:
* Noosaville: 230.9
* Caloundra, Currimundi and Baringa: 239.9
* Warana and Mountain Creek: 241.9
* Sippy Downs: 244.9
* Beerwah: 252.9
In a straight line, Beerwah is about 50 kilometres closer to Brisbane than Noosaville, so the cost of trucking fuel in is unlikely to explain why it charges 22 cents more. Competition is the likelier answer. EG Ampol Noosaville is within about 560 metres of Freedom Fuels (233.5) and 7 Eleven Noosaville (235.9). In Beerwah, the EG Ampol and the Coochin Creek Shell are 300 metres apart and both ask 252.9, and the next nearest servo is 5 kilometres away in Landsborough.
7 Eleven shows the same pattern. Its nine sites run from 235.9 in Noosaville to 249.9 at 7 Eleven Woombye, a 14 cent spread within one network.
Three weeks of divergence
The split has widened since mid September. Across 26 servos between Caloundra and Coolum Beach with a full price record, average unleaded rose from 235.7 on 18th Sep to 241.2 today, a lift of 5.5 cents. U Go Tewantin stayed between 227.9 and 232.5 for that whole period, and EG Ampol Noosaville between 229.9 and 232.9. Over the same three weeks, EG Ampol Warana went from 235.9 to 241.9 and EG Ampol Beerwah from 244.9 to 252.9.

E10 follows the same map
At 49 of the 50 servos selling both fuels, E10 prices sit exactly 2 cents under unleaded, so the same geography repeats. E10 costs 227.9 in Tewantin and Doonan, 237.9 to 239.9 through Maroochydore and Kawana, and 250.9 in Beerwah.
What this means at the bowser
Thirty of the 66 servos in the area sit at either 239.9 or 241.9, which makes those numbers look like the going rate. They are not the floor. In Noosaville, Tewantin and Doonan, the independents and one EG Ampol are 8 to 12 cents under that rate. On the central coast, Liberty Bokarina and Caltex Currimundi (237.5) and the 7 Eleven sites at Wurtulla and Meridan Plains (237.9) are about 4 cents under the 241.9 crowd. Hinterland drivers paying 247.9 to 249.9 around Woombye can save 8 to 10 cents a litre by filling on the coast if they are heading that way anyway.

I will be watching whether U Go Tewantin and United Doonan can hold 229.9 into next week. Armed with this information, Tewantin motorists can avoid paying 12 cents a litre more for the same fuel 500 metres down the road.
