39 Sydney Servos Cut Unleaded to Exactly 229.9 Since Monday as Reddy Express Moves First
Official NSW FuelCheck data shows 39 servos across Greater Sydney have cut unleaded to exactly 229.9 since Monday morning. Most did it in one step of 9.9 to 12 cents, and 26 of them cut by 11.9 or 12 cents. Reddy Express sites showed the new price first, and by 6am today the servos around them had followed.
The figures were checked at 12:00pm AEDT on Tuesday 3rd Nov 2026 and cover 721 Sydney servos.
Who moved, and when
The NSW feed updates every 30 minutes between 6am and 10am, and again at noon, so the order is easy to trace. At 10am on Monday there was no sign of the cut. By noon, seven Reddy Express sites were on 229.9, among them Forestville, Five Dock, Pagewood, Marsfield and Mount Annan, along with 7 Eleven Rozelle.
Another 29 had arrived at the same figure by 6am today: nine Shell, seven 7 Eleven, four Ampol Foodary, three EG Ampol, two more Reddy Express and four independents. BP Haberfield and one more EG Ampol site joined them in the 9am and noon updates.
Between noon Monday and noon today, the number of Sydney servos at or under 229.9 went from 189 to 257, and the city median for unleaded petrol prices eased from 237.9 to 235.9.
Four majors on Roberts Road, Greenacre
The clearest case is Roberts Road in Greenacre, where Ampol Foodary Greenacre, EG Ampol Greenacre, Reddy Express Greenacre and Shell Greenacre all showed 229.9 at 6am today.
Last Thursday, EG Ampol Greenacre went from 239.9 to 244.9 as part of the Ampol network's 5 cent lift. Metro Greenacre, about 720 metres away, was on 218.7 then and is still on 218.7, so the gap between them has narrowed from 26.2 cents to 11.2. TEMCO Petroleum Greenacre on Waterloo Road is also on 218.7, after a short spell at 229.7 on Saturday.
Forestville's independents went lower
On Warringah Road in Forestville, the sequence ran the other way. Reddy Express Forestville cut from 239.8 to 229.9 by noon Monday, which put it 7 cents below Metro Forestville on 236.9, just 141 metres away.
Metro Forestville had cut to 228.9 by 6am today. Two more independents on the same road, Metro at 702 Warringah Road and Arko Energy Forestville, went from 236.9 to 228.9 and then to 227.9 by 9am.
Five Dock caught up overnight
In Five Dock, Reddy Express Five Dock on Parramatta Road cut from 241.8 to 229.9 by noon Monday. 7 Eleven Five Dock on Great North Road and Ampol Foodary Five Dock on Ramsay Road, about 570 metres apart, both went from 241.9 to 229.9 overnight. All three now list E10 prices at 227.9.
Where the Ampol lift went
This week's drop comes after a lift that only partly held. At noon on 28th Oct the Ampol Foodary median was 239.9. It reached 244.9 after the lift and is now 241.9. EG Ampol's median went from 238.9 to 242.9 and is back to 239.9, while 7 Eleven's rose from 238.9 to 241.9 by Friday and has eased to 240.9. Reddy Express lifted 46 of its 47 sites by exactly 2 cents on 29th Oct. Speedway sat on 229.5 throughout, and Metro is now on 228.5.
The overall median was 235.9 on 28th Oct, rose to 238.9 on Friday and Saturday, and is back at 235.9 today.
One step instead of a slow slide
After the 12th and 13th Oct peak, prices came down a cent or two at a time. This week, sites moved about 12 cents in a single step and stopped at one shared price, though the data doesn't show why each retailer moved. Whether the rest of the city follows to 229.9, or these 39 sites lift again, is the thing to watch in the price trends over the coming days.
Where to fill
In Greenacre, Metro and TEMCO on 218.7 are 11.2 cents under the Roberts Road majors, worth $6.72 on a 60 litre tank. In Forestville, Metro at 702 Warringah Road and Arko Energy are on 227.9, with Metro Forestville on 228.9.
Elsewhere, 42 Sydney servos are still on 241.9 and 80 are on 244.8 or 244.9, so a 229.9 site saves 12 to 15 cents, or $7.20 to $9.00 on a 60 litre tank. Check the interactive fuel map before you head out.
For motorists willing to shop around, the saving this week is in knowing which servos on your route have already cut, rather than waiting for a citywide move.
