83 Brisbane Ampol Servos Lift Unleaded Before Dawn While Acacia Ridge Sits at 221.5

Queensland's official fuel price data shows that between 4:40am and 5:30am AEST on Thursday 29th Oct 2026, 65 Ampol and EG Ampol servos across greater Brisbane lodged higher unleaded prices. By late morning, 83 of the group's 97 sites in the area had lifted, most by exactly 5 cents (47 sites) or 7 cents (18 sites).

The move was largely confined to that one network. Of 51 Reddy Express sites, 49 held their Wednesday price. Caltex held at 33 of 37 sites, and 28 of 48 BP sites were unchanged, with most of the rest lifting 1 to 3 cents. 7 Eleven was split, with 51 of its 107 sites moving up, mostly by 2 to 5 cents.

Sydney moved the same morning

The timing matches what happened in Sydney overnight, where 113 Ampol sites lifted unleaded by 5 cents. Two capital cities moving on the same morning suggests the decision was made for the network as a whole.

It has also changed Brisbane's brand order. On Wednesday afternoon the EG Ampol median across 44 sites was 238.4 cents a litre, below Reddy Express at 241.9. By Thursday it was 243.9, the highest median of any major brand in the city. Ampol branded sites went from 239.9 to 242.9.

Across the 435 servos with a current price between Caboolture and Beenleigh, the median unleaded price rose from 235.7 on Tuesday 27th Oct, the lowest reading since at least late September, to 238.9 by late Thursday morning. That is still below the 241.5 recorded on 12th Oct.

Beaudesert Road shows the split

On the southside, EG Ampol Moorooka at 345 Beaudesert Rd went from 239.9 to 244.9 at 4:57am. Moorooka Servo, about 660 metres away, cut to 226.7 on Wednesday evening and was 18.2 cents cheaper on Thursday morning.

Further along the same road in Acacia Ridge, EG Ampol Acacia Ridge at 1150 Beaudesert Rd lifted from 227.9 to 232.9 at 6:32am. Its neighbours had gone the other way on Wednesday. Liberty Acacia Ridge, about 270 metres away, and Pearl Energy Acacia Ridge both cut to 221.5, with E10 at 217.5.

That leaves the same brand on the same road 12 cents apart, at 244.9 in Moorooka and 232.9 in Acacia Ridge. It is consistent with the zone pricing in earlier Petrolmate analysis of Brisbane, which found the same brands more than 20 cents apart on opposite sides of the city.

Margate and Oxley

On the Redcliffe peninsula, EG Ampol Margate in Baynes St lifted twice, to 239.9 on Wednesday afternoon and to 244.9 at 6:27am on Thursday. Liberty Margate on Oxley Ave, about 260 metres away, has held 229.5 since Monday 26th Oct, which leaves a gap of 15.4 cents. Liberty's E10 there is 225.5.

In Oxley, EG Ampol Oxley moved from 231.9 to 236.9 at 4:52am, while Liberty Oxley on Blunder Rd, roughly 230 metres away, stayed at 229.5.

Not every Ampol site finished high. Ampol Foodary Woolloongabba on Logan Rd went from 219.4 to 225.9 in two steps on Thursday morning and is still 2 cents under United Woolloongabba at 227.9.

The independents led the easing

Over the fortnight from 12th to 28th Oct, the Liberty median fell from 233.5 to 227.7 and Pearl Energy's from 233.5 to 225.5, while Reddy Express finished where it started, at 241.9. EG Ampol had eased from 241.9 to 238.4 over the same period, so Thursday's lift has taken its median 2 cents above where it began.

What it means at the pump

On a 60 litre tank, the gap between EG Ampol Moorooka and Moorooka Servo is worth about $10.90, and the Margate gap about $9.20. E10 drivers see a wider spread at the independents, where E10 sits 4 cents under unleaded at every Liberty and Pearl Energy site named here, against 2 cents at the EG Ampol sites. Current E10 prices and unleaded petrol prices for every Queensland suburb are on Petrolmate, and the price trends page shows which way prices go from here.

The independents named here sit 7 to 18 cents under the EG Ampol sites beside them, so for motorists willing to shop around, brand and street now matter more than suburb.
