Don't get pumped.
We collect fuel prices from the official fuel price schemes run by Australian state and territory governments to help you find the cheapest petrol near you.
Petrolmate was built to solve a simple problem: fuel prices vary significantly between stations, but finding the cheapest option nearby shouldn't require checking multiple apps and websites. On any given day, the price difference between the cheapest and most expensive station in a capital city can exceed 50 cents per litre, representing over $25 on a single tank of fuel.
We collect prices from the official fuel price schemes run by every Australian state and territory government, to give you a clear view of fuel prices in your area. Our goal is to help every Australian motorist save money on their weekly fill-up by making pricing information transparent and accessible.
Petrolmate connects to official government fuel pricing APIs in every Australian state and territory. In New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, Northern Territory, and Tasmania, retailers are legally required to report price changes to government authorities, and we access this data through their public APIs. Victoria's prices come from the state's Fair Fuel scheme.
Every price goes through automated checks: stale prices are deprioritised and removed after 7 days, and implausible entries are filtered out. Prices are refreshed multiple times throughout the day, but can still lag the pump, so check the price at the station before you fill up.
